Crist wants Gators victory -- and 'Bama BBQ
Game on! Gov. Charlie Crist today made a "friendly wager" with Alabama Gov. Bob Riley in advance of Saturday's SEC football championship faceoff between the UF Gators and the University of Alabama Crimson Tide.
After the Gators beat the Tide last year at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Crist got a rack of ribs from Tuscaloosa’s famous Dreamland Barbeque, courtesy of Governor Riley. If the Gators swamp 'Bama again, Crist -- the health food-loving governor -- gets another rack of ribs.
If the Gators lose, Crist says he'll send Riley some Florida oranges.
“I look forward to joining Gator fans across the Sunshine State root for another hard fought victory," Crist said. "I’m also looking forward to my friend Governor Riley delivering another rack of ribs to Florida. Go Gators!”
Riley, meanwhile, says he can't wait for his shipment of Sunshine State oranges.
