About John Thrasher's campaign check to Alex Sink

Yes, it's true that would-be Florida Republican Party chairman John Thrasher wrote a $500 check to Democrat Alex Sink's campaign. But for whatever it's worth, then-lobbyist Thrasher wrote that check in February to Sink's chief financial officer re-election campaign. In June, a few weeks after Sink started running for governor, she refunded Thrasher $460, apparently the pro-rated amount of his donation.

It probably won't matter much to some folks, but Thrasher was hardly the only Republican power GOP activist/lobbyist who felt it was in their self-interest to support the woman likely to be re-elected chief financial officer.
