Winner and loser of the week in Florida politics

Carltroup Winner of the week: St. Petersburg barber Carl Troup. Talk about great publicity. Since it was revealed Marco Rubio charged $134 at a Miami barber shop on his GOP party credit card, Charlie Crist has been touting the glories of his longtime barber all over national TV and rallies across the state. "Eleven bucks - and that includes tip!" Crist says of Troup’s cuts. Runner up: Kendrick Meek is closing in on his magic number of signature to qualify for the ballot by petition, and at least one poll suggests he would be competitive against Marco Rubio in the general election.

Loser(s) of the week: Tie: Charlie Crist. Accusing Marco Rubio of back waxing? Tacky, weird, and Crist-rubio desperate. Marco Rubio. The way his old legislative poltical committee spent money on relatives, credit card payments and undisclosed expenses, he looked like a budding Dan Rostenkowski. Runner up:  Loranne Ausley. The Democratic Chief Financial Officer candidate actually fired off a fundraising solicitation based on Republican rival Jeff Atwater having been named last week’s Loser of the week. ("No, Jeff Atwater was not the true loser this week, the people of Florida were. And you deserve better!") Weak.
