Meek wins in Dem Senate primary; gov race too close to call

It wasn't close. Multiple media outlets are calling the Democratic U.S. Senate race for Kendrick Meek over Jeff Greene. (As of 8:30 Meek has 54% compared to Greene's 32%, with 524k total votes) Now the race pivots to a three-man race, including Gov. Charlie Crist and Marco Rubio.

The fact that AP had called the race for Meek wasn't visible at the Westin Diplomat Resort and Spa in Hollywood where Meek was expected to address supporters later in the night. As of 8:30 p.m., clusters of supporters quietly mingled over drinks and huddled over cell phones in the ballroom.

And it's a squeaker in the governor's race. Rick Scott has a 2 point edge... but two vote-rich counties, Broward and Dade, are slow in reporting results. Stay tuned...
