Alex Sink says she won't lay off Rick Scott's Medicare record

Democrat Alex Sink said Wednesday she won't be changing her approach just because her Republican opponent in the race for governor is Rick Scott,  a veteran of the business world like she is, and not Bill McCollum, a career politician. "We didn’t know who was going to be selected by the Republicans, and my message is the same regardless of who their candidates are," she said before returning to Tallahassee on Wednesday.

"I'm going to run a very aggressive campaign,'' she said. What does that mean, attack ads? She said she won't shy away from attacking Scott on the Medicare fraud charges that mounted against his former company: "It’s important for Floridians to understand what the past experience of the potential future governor is and so, obviously, is his experience and what he's been involved in."

She also will not hesitate to use 527 campaigns "like my opponents did. I'll play by the rules."

Will she accept public campaign financing? "We said we'd make the decision after the primary,'' she said, and they haven't made it yet.
