Adam Putnam assesses Donald Trump's performance
Florida House Speaker Richard Corcoran, expected to run for governor in 2018, gives Donald Trump an A-plus for his performance so far. His likely GOP primary rival, Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam sounded less impressed by Trump's implementation when asked Tuesday at the Associated Press' pre-session conference.
"He is doing many of the things that he said that he would do. I would prefer to have seen some of them executed or implemented more efficiently and more smoothly than they have been, but he certainly is off to a start of doing many of the things that he campaigned on."
The travel restrictions. "We all need to make this country more secure. It's a dangerous world. It is not a religious test. There are certainly Muslim countries not on the list and the ones that he selected is identitical to a list that President Obana used, same seven counties. The frustrating part is why would you hire such talented cabinet and not use them in making sure that implementing that plan is as efficient and seemless as possible."
On building a wall across the southern border: "If we can read a license plate on a Toyota Land Cruiser in the mountains of Afghanistan from space we can use better technologies to create a a barrier that protects the U.S. from people entering this country illegally on both borders."
