Agriculture interests line up to help Young, Steube in big state Senate races
Some of the biggest names in Florida agriculture are lining up to help State Reps. Dana Young, R-Tampa, and Greg Steube, R-Sarasota, win seats in the Florida Senate.
On Sept. 28, Young and Steube will be beneficiaries of a political fundraiser being touted as "a Florida Agriculture Reception" in rural Manatee County
Senate Majority Leader Bill Galvano, R-Bradenton; Florida Citrus Mutual; Florida Farm PAC; Florida Cow PAC; the Florida Fruit & Vegetable Association; the Florida Nursery, Growers and Landscape Association PAC; Southeast Milk, Inc; and Tree PAC are all prominent on the invite that promises to help Young and Steube, who are battling for competitive open seats in the Florida Senate.
Young is battling Democrat Bob Buesing for Senate District 18 in Hillsborough County. Steube is battling Sarasota Democrat Frank Alcock in District 23, which covers Sarasota and part of Charlotte County.
The fundraiser is also to support incumbent Sen. Kelli Stargel, R-Lakeland, who is being challenged for re-election by Debra Wright.
