Alan Grayson joins GOP in calling for Obama to fire Clapper for 'lying' about NSA
Rep. Alan Grayson of Florida joined a handful of Republicans in demanding President Obama fire national intelligence dirctor James Clapper over statments he made to Congress about the NSA's spying activities.
Clapper lied about the data collection, lawmaker say in a letter to Obama led by Rep. Darrell Issa, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. "Asking Director Clapper, and other federal intelligence officials who misrepresented programs to Congress and the courts, to report to you on needed reforms and the future role of government surveillance is not a credible solution."
Grayson, a liberal Democrat from Orlando, has been a vocal critic of the NSA since Edward Snowden's disclosures.
