Alan Grayson launches bus tour
U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson is hitting the road this week with a bus tour focused on his policy plans for senior citizens.
The “Seniors Deserve a Raise” tour begins in South Florida on Wednesday with media events and a press conference about U.S. Senate debates in West Palm Beach.
Grayson also will discuss his proposals to boost the cost of living adjustment for people on Social Security and to expand Medicare to cover dental, vision and hearing.
“I am running for the same reason I have served in Congress: to improve the lives of ordinary people,” Grayson said in a statement. “I want to improve the lives of seniors, and build on what I have already accomplished in the name of justice, equality and peace."
Grayson is running in the Aug. 30 primary for U.S. Senate. His chief rivals are U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy and Pam Keith, a Miami labor attorney.
