Alan Rosenthal, who studied Florida Legislature, is dead at 81
Alan Rosenthal, a Rutgers University political scientist who hailed the Florida Legislature as one of the nation's best in the 1970s, has died at his home in New Jersey. He was 81.
Rosenthal ran the Eagelton Institute of Politics at Rutgers from 1974 to 1994, and closely studied legislatures around the country, including Florida's. He rated it as one of the nation's best in the 1970s, but later said the imposition of term limits created negative effects on it as an institution.
