Anitere Flores: Funnel for Disney campaign money

...State records show that Disney gave $50,000 on Nov. 27 to an outfit known as “Floridians for Strong Leadership,” a fundraising committee controlled by state Sen. Anitere Flores, a Republican from Miami.
That same day, Floridians for Strong Leadership turned around and wrote a $50,000 check to the “Treasure Coast Alliance,” a committee controlled by Sen. Joe Negron, a Republican from Stuart. That made Flores one of Negron’s largest individual contributors in November.
Negron is in the midst of a heated, though hidden from the public, race to become president of the Florida Senate after the 2016 elections, a vote that is decided by the Senate’s GOP caucus.
...Everyone involved said Disney wasn’t funneling money to Negron.
...This isn’t the first time Disney money has appeared to filter through Flores. Disney wrote a $30,000 check to an earlier iteration of Flores’ fundraising committee on July 12, 2012, in the midst of Florida’s primary elections. A day later, Flores’ group cut a $30,000 to an organization called “Accountable Florida,” which used the money to pay for television ads...
