Bill McCollum says Rick Scott could face primary challenge, but 'I'm not planning to do it'
Former Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum, who lost the GOP primary in 2010 to Rick Scott, thinks the governor could face a primary himself.
"I wouldn't be surprised if somebody looks at it," McCollum said in an interview. "I'm not planning to do it."
McCollum ssaid it depends largely on how things look early next year, and he credited Scott with improving his standing, singling out the hiring of Adam Hollingsworth as chief of staff. Scott has also seen the Florida economy improve during his tenure.
"He's done a better job in the last year," McCollum said.
