Bill Nelson's shutdown message for constituents
Trying to reach Sen. Bill Nelson?
If you call his Washington office, you'll hear this message, from the man himself, blaming the shutdown on a small group of "extremists" in the House.
Nelson's office says it has called back two employees to the Orlando office to handle constituent issues. Sen. Marco Rubio's office is also operating with a skeleton crew. Staffers answer phones in Washington and Orlando, spokesman Alex Conant said, though callers may get voice mail. "Mail and e-mail is being delivered, but we will not be able to respond until after the shutdown is over."
