Bush and Rubio try to navigate Syrian refugee issue
Jeb Bush is having a hard time articulating his position on the Syrian refugees. On Fox News today he said he thinks there should be a "pause" in accepting refugees and was pressed on his position. Bush has said the U.S. should welcome the afflicted but then focused on Christians before clarifying Tuesday that some Muslims could be accepted as well.
Marco Rubio, meanwhile, has taken to saying Syrians can't be backgrounded (and therefore not allowed in). In September Rubio said refugees should be accepted "if it can be done in a way that allows us to ensure that among them are not infiltrated people who, you know, are part of a terrorist organization or are using this."
