Capitol Buzz: Five things to watch today in Tallahassee

7

March

Yes, it's finally the last week of the regular legislative session. That means a budget's being finalized, bills are dying and compromises are being struck between the House and Senate. Here's what we're watching today:

* The Senate could vote on an expansion of medical marijuana to include terminal patients. The legislation has been bogged down by several attempts to change it and bring in additional growers.

* Sweeping abortion restrictions may be taken up by the Senate. Under the proposed changes, clinics would have to have transfer agreements with nearby hospitals and could not receive state money to support non-abortion services.

* The Senate will vote on whether to require local governments to set policies if they implement policy body cameras.

* The House will vote on broad government accountability legislation that includes stiffer disclosure requirements for lobbyists.

* One part of the House's free-market health care package will be considered by the Senate: It would require greater price transparency and create a statewide hospital cost database.
