Charlie Crist going to jail
Shameless click bait, that headline, but sorta accurate.
Charlie Crist will be spreading good will among dignitaries (and potential campaign donors), as he serves as honorary chairman of the annual "Jail and Bail" fundraiser for the American Cancer Society in Fort Lauderdale April 23. Folks will get "arrested" and imprisoned in specially made jails at the Airport Sheraton and then have to raise enough money to make "bail" to earn their freedom.
“We are excited to have former Governor Charlie Crist as our Honorary Chair,” said David Singer, a trial lawyer and longtime chairman of Jail and Bail. “He is a man of great vision and dedication and with him on board, we know Jail and Bail will be a tremendous success. Governor Crist has a long history on cancer issues. As Governor, he signed bills that made Florida a partner in in the life saving Esther King Biomedical Research and the Bankhead-Coley Cancer Research programs. Also, he signed a dollar fee per pack of cigarettes law that has kept over 500,000 young people from starting to smoke.”
