Charlie Crist surprised to learn he's in running for Clinton's VP
NBC: Hillary Clinton to name VP pick during visit to Florida this week. Ex-Florida governor Charlie Crist said to be among candidates. 1/2— CBC News Alerts (@CBCAlerts) July 20, 2016
And then helpfully:
Crist, an ex-Republican, went to Democrats in 2010. Didn't like GOP's direction, was opposed to obstructionist tactics in Congress. 2/2— CBC News Alerts (@CBCAlerts) July 20, 2016
Could it be true? "Not that I'm aware of," Crist told The Buzz, laughing. "I don't know where it's coming from, to be honest." CBC News is a Canadian media outlet, "Canada's TV, radio and online newsleader," according to its Twitter bio. It issued a corrected tweet.
Clarification: NBC not linking Clinton Florida's visit to the possible selection of Chris Crist as VP. Earlier CBC tweet implied otherwise.— CBC News Alerts (@CBCAlerts) July 20, 2016
Correcting a clarification. Ex-Florida governor is CHARLIE Crist. Not Chris.— CBC News Alerts (@CBCAlerts) July 20, 2016
Crist said he hadn't read the tweets. He said he knew that Clinton was coming on Friday to Tampa, when he plans to meet with her. "But that's it," he said. The ex-Republican has been watching the RNC this week. He's not a fan. "(Rudy) Giuliani was over the top," Crist said. "It's disappointing to see what has happened to that party. It's sad."
