Chelsea Clinton drops by St. Pete to raise money for mom's bid for president
St. Petersburg got a Friday visit from Chelsea Clinton as a part of fundraising efforts benefiting her mother's campaign.
The 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. event, one of at least 10 January fundraisers by Clinton, was held at the $1.6 million Bayway Isles home of Joseph and Katharine Saunders for $250 a head. A "co-host" title and a photo op with the former first daughter cost $1,000.
According to CNN, Clinton spent her time in Florida focused on the LGBT community. She started in Fort Lauderdale Friday morning at an event hosted by Claire Lucas and Judy Dlugacz, founder of Olivia, a travel company serving the lesbian community. Her event in St. Petersburg was hosted by Equality Florida's Ed Lally and Phil Dinkins, CNN said.
