Clinton campaign making voter registration push this weekend in Florida
The Clinton campaign is bringing in big name help for a voter registration push ahead of the Oct. 11 deadline in Florida.
New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker campaigned for Hillary Clinton today in Fort Lauderdale and will Sunday in West Palm Beach.
The appearance comes as Clinton is trying to motivate African-American voters, who have shown less enthusiasm for her over Barack Obama.
In Fort Lauderdale this afternoon, Booker attended a voter registration event. Tomorrow he visits This Is It Cafe.
Also, the Clinton campaign said on Sunday Pras Michél, founding member of the Fugees, will campaign in Little Haiti.
"Pras will highlight the importance of voting in the upcoming election and that Hillary Clinton believes we are stronger when we lift each other up, and that we all have a role in creating America’s future," the campaign said.
RNC spokesman Ninio Fetalvo: "The Clinton campaign parachuting in Cory Booker, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden with less than 40 days until Election Day won't persuade voters from the Obama coalition who have clearly been unenthusiastic about a Clinton presidency. A last minute push for voter registration won't help the Democrats when Republicans have been prioritizing voter registration and cutting the Democrats' advantage for the past three years."
