College student from Miami among dead in Bangladesh, Rubio says

Sen. Marco Rubio said Saturday that a college student from Miami was among the victims of the terrorist attack in Bangladesh. And Rubio also criticized President Obama for allowing the "scourage" to grow.

"I was saddened to learn this morning that one of the victims is Abinta Kabir, a college student from Miami who was visiting family and friends," Rubio said in a statement.

“From Paris to Brussels to Istanbul to now Dhaka, terrorists continue to answer the call to murder innocent civilians in the name of the Islamic State. Under President Obama's watch this scourge has metastasized due to failed policies that insufficiently address the root cause of this problem. Without a substantial change in posture, I fear we will only see more attacks like we have today.”

Gov. Rick Scott:

Yesterday, Abinta Kabir was taken hostage and murdered by ISIS in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Kabir was from Miami and attended Oxford College of Emory University in Oxford, Georgia.

In honor and remembrance of Abinta Kabir, I hereby direct the flags of the United States and the State of Florida to be flown at half-staff at all local and state buildings, installations, and grounds throughout the State of Florida from sunrise to sunset on Sunday, July 3, 2016.
