Conservative groups pumping $1.2 million into Jolly-Sink race
The outside money keeps piling up in #FL13. Today another $1.2 million has been reported from conservative groups.
The American Action Network said today that will spend $500,000 in the Florida Congressional District 13 race featuring Democrat Alex Sink and Republican David Jolly.
"The independent expenditures include over $350,000 in broadcast and targeted cable television from February 4 – February 20, 2014, as well as targeted mail and digital advertising," the group said.
“With a mess of a record supporting Obamacare and tax hikes and a past of gross financial mismanagement, Florida families simply can’t trust Alex Sink in Washington,” said ACN spokeswoman Emily Davis. “This is a tossup race and we see an opportunity for victory in a must-win election for Nancy Pelosi and her liberal lieutenants.”
Additionally, American Crossroads said that starting Feb. 18, it will spend $500,000, including $357,000 on broadcast and cable and the rest in direct mail. "This has become a far more competitive race than anyone initially expected. The Democrats were hoping to get momentum here, they haven’t, and it’s important that we push back hard," said CEO Steven Law.
Politico, which first reported the spending, adds more funding: YG Network will spend $200,000 on TV, bringing the total spending to $1.2 million.
