ACLU, Acorn urge Crist to appoint elex chief who 'expands' ballot
The ACLU, Acorn Florida and a number of other voter groups have sent Gov. Charlie Crist a letter urging him to appoint a Hillsborough Supervisor of Elections who "will work to enforce and expand access to the ballot rather than limit it."
Crist spent Friday afternoon in Tampa interviewing candidates for the position, left vacant with the recent and sudden death of newly elected elections supervisor Phyllis Busansky. Among those seeking the post is Tampa Republican Sen. Victor Crist.
