Adam Putnam touts campaign cash haul
Agriculture Commissioner candidate Adam Putnam is the first statewide candidate to show his cards after the campaign finance quarter ended Friday. The Republican campaign announced he raised $205,000 in the second quarter, bringing his total haul to $1.6 million since he entered the race in February. It's the most ever raised by an agriculture commissioner candidate, according to his campaign. He reported $1.3 million cash on hand from 5,545 contributors -- about 95 percent from Florida.
"I have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of financial support our campaign has received, and I am even more excited at the ever-expanding grass roots network our campaign has built,” said Putnam, a Central Florida congressman.
