Adam Putnam's new communications director

Adam Putnam announced today named Amanda Burdick Bevis his communications director at the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.  She comes to the Department from Booz Allen Hamilton in Washington, D.C. Her previous experience includes director at Powell Tate, aide to Counselor Dan Bartlett in the White House Office of Communications under President Bush’s administration and press assistant at Bush-Cheney ’04.

“Commissioner-Elect Putnam and his transition team have assembled a group of experienced leaders that will support his efforts in new job creation, steward the state’s resources and protect Florida consumers,” said Transition Team Executive Director Trey McCarley. “We’re pleased to have Amanda Bevis as part of this talented team at the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and we’re ready to get to work next week.”

Announced last week, Putnam has also tapped Mike Joyner to serve as Assistant Commissioner and Chief of Staff, with Marion Aller, Jay Levenstein and Shannon Shepp as Deputy Commissioners. Sterling Ivey will serve as the Department’s Press Secretary. For a full list of staff appointments, visit www.freshfromflorida.com.
