All touchy about touch screens
The Senate Ethics & Elections Committee got an earful Tuesday from people fed up with those temperamental touch-screen voting machines. A number of speakers urged lawmakers to junk touch-screens or "DRE's" and require a paper audit trail to verify a voter's choice.
Then the panel, chaired by Sen. Lee Constantine, R-Altamonte Springs, summoned Gov. Charlie Crist's new secretary of state, Kurt Browning, to discuss his decision to appeal a recent decision by Sarasota County voters to require a paper trail in future elections.
