Republican Charlie Crist has a new TV ad that stresses his opposition to more taxes and support for Jeb Bush's education policies. Crist appears in a bright red short-sleeved shirt on that same leafy St. Petersburg street seen in earlier ads. In the spot, Crist says: "This election is critical to Florida's future. Will property taxes keep rising along with home insurance rates? Will we build on Governor Bush's education success or slip backwards? These are big stakes and big choices. I've proven where I stand: We can run smarter, smaller government without raising taxes. We must get down insurance rates through more competition ... "
The ad also emphasizes Crist's support for a proposal to require school districts to spend 65 percent of their money in classrooms, an idea that went nowhere in a Republican-controlled Legislature. The ad, like Crist's earlier spots, was produced by admakers Stuart Stevens and Russ Schriefer.
