Argenziano doesn't make PSC cut

Argenziano State Sen. Nancy Argenziano, R-Dunnellon, will not be interviewed for one of the two vacancies on the Public Service Commission.

A nominating council today selected 19 people, including former Sen. Les Miller, D-Tampa. The list is here > qualified.pdf. Candidates will be interviewed March 9.

One of 66 applicants, Argenziano said she wanted to boost her voice in important utility issues. Several colleagues wrote letters of recommendation, including Senate President Ken Pruitt.

Argenziano blamed the snub on utility lobbying. "These people don’t want fair, and that’s what I am," she told the Buzz. "I’ll go back to Senate and keep being the watchdog." She said the process gives weight to an elected PSC.
