Communications consultant Kevin Cate, who puts together the excellent, daily FloridaTVReport, is compiling for The Buzz a monthly analysis of TV mentions of the Florida candidates running for U.S. Senate. The October numbers in the chart above reflect the estimated size of the audiences reached. While a majority of the Mack mentions were about his entry in the race, Cate says many were not.

"For local Florida TV news viewers this is a two man race between Sen. Nelson vs. Rep. Mack, with former Senator Lemieux running a distant third and Adam Hasner performing only slightly better than the also-ran mentions of Miller and McCalister," Cate said. "If any of the Republican challengers intend to make their primary interesting to local TV they are going to have to find a way to manufacture some conflict or contrast between themselves and Rep. Mack between now and commercial season."
