Behind Big Time, Does T.G. Need The Fumblerooski?
Gov. Jeb Bush was asked Thursday what he thinks of Charlie Crist's sizable advantage over Tom Gallagher in polls. "It's a pretty significant lead, as I said yesterday, but I think it's still a race. Like hurricane preparation, in politics, resting on your laurels is a pretty dangerous thing as well. What analogy do you want, football? Ground game ... Trying to protect the lead in football or in politics is a dangerous thing."
The quick-witted Marc Caputo of the Miami Herald pulled a rare one from the playbook, asking, "So does Gallagher need the fumblerooski?" Bush nearly doubled over with laughter.
Bush, by the way, said he did not think Crist was resting on his laurels, adding, "The guy is a ferocious candidate."
