Bense's election
As much as Republican party loyalists like to say no one's thinking about electing their next state GOP chairman until after Nov. 7, don't buy it. Another sign that House Speaker Allan Bense is emerging as the frontrunner to succeed Carole Jean Jordan: He as unanimously elected chairman of the Bay County Republican Executive Committee last night, making him eligible for the top state party position.
