Bilirakis' poll

13

September

The Gus Bilirakis Congressional campaign is touting an 8/22-23 internal poll of 300 likely voters by the Tarrance Group showing that the Tarpon Springs state representative has a 28-point lead over Democrat Phyllis Busansky (54%-26%). Key findings:

" ** Bilirakis dominates this ballot test at every level, capturing a majority of the vote in every county of the district.  Even in Hillsborough County – Busansky’s home county – Gus Bilirakis has a twenty-nine point lead over her on the ballot test.
**Among those voters who “know both” candidates, Gus Bilirakis captures fifty-one percent (51%) of the vote and leads Busansky by fully seventeen points.
**Busansky is largely unknown to voters in the district, with a name awareness level of only twenty-four percent (24%.)  Even in Hillsborough County, her home county, seven in ten voters have never even heard of her.
**There is no significant partisanship to Bilirakis’ image ratings, as he stands with a 47% favorable rating among Independents, and a 40% favorable rating among partisan Democrats.  Gus Bilirakis’ favorable rating among partisan Democrats is 28 points higher than Busansky’s favorable rating among Democrats."
