Bilirakis Widens Fundraising Gap with Busansky
In the race for U.S. Congress District 9, Republican frontrunner Gus Bilirakis raised three times as much money than Democratic candidate Physllis Busansky between July 1 to Aug. 16 and finished the cycle with four as much cash on hand, according to new Federal Elections Commission campaign finance reports. Here are the numbers:
* Bilirakis ended the cycle with $1,189,620 cash on hand, after having raised $316,718 and spent $146,886. Campaign contributions over the entire election, have totaled $1,802,948.
* Meanwhile Republican David Langheier’s latest filing showed $3,752 cash on hand, with $31,305 raised and $29,454 spent since July 1.
* Phyllis Busansky's report showed the Democrat, who is not facing a primary opponent, finished the cycle with $531,228 cash, with contributions totaling $94,142 and $92,675 of expenditures. In all, her campaign has raised $799,03 in contributions and spent $286,466.
