Bill McCollum defection to Paula Dockery camp
Jamie Miller, who consulted for Bill McCollum's successful 2006 race for attorney general, is now the campaign manager for McCollum's Republican opponent for governor, Paula Dockery.
But Miller probably isn't the biggest boost to Dockery's campaign. That distinction belongs to Senate President Jeff Atwater who called a special session on SunRail without the votes, ensuring that Dockery became the star of the show. Sure, she doesn't have statewide name ID right now. But call another session like this, and who knows?
Asked about this after a press conference, Dockery demurred. "I would much prefer to be out campaigning than to have the possibly that this may be come law."
Pressed again about the (valuable) media attention she is getting, she said, "I'm more concerned about good public policy. My campaign will take light after the beginning of the year."
