Bill Nelson to vote early, hoping to send message about Florida election law
U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson said he will cast a ballot tomorrow in early voting in Orlando, using it as an opportunity to highlight "lingering concerns and lawsuits over controversial changes to Florida’s election law."
“More than ever, it’s important to get out and make sure your vote is counted,” Nelson said in a campaign statement.
Nelson faces nominal opposition in the Aug. 14 Democratic primary. But he and other Democrats say changes the Republican Legislature made to election law, including a shorter early voting period, could hurt turnout.
