Bill Nelson votes against Democratic budget cuts
Sen. Bill Nelson voted today against a budget cutting package put forth by his fellow Democrats, a sign he's aware of the hurdles he faces in his re-election effort.
Nelson was among a handful of moderate Democrats who opposed the measure because it did not go far enough. At the same time, the House budget plan also failed, with Democrats saying it went too far.
Neither measure was expected to pass. Story here.
Republican Sen. Marco Rubio voted for the Republican version (his statement here) which included a provision to block new EPA water pollution rules for Florida.
