Bush & Crist on Davis' Apology
Gov. Jeb Bush and Attorney General Charlie Crist both gave their two cents about Congressman Jim Davis and his Tuesday apology to Lee and Pitts for voting not to compensate them back in 1990.
“I think Congressman Davis was a little clumsy in how he handled all this; the political side of this was not handled right. But the apology seemed to be heartfelt and it was accepted but life moves on and I guess we move on to other issues now.”
“I think that was the right thing to do,” Crist said. “I know what the right thing to do was, when I co-sponsored the bill to compensate those men. It’s unfortunate that he didn’t know that right from the get-go. I hope he doesn’t have to apologize for too many more things."
