The Buzz: MacNamara to be Scott's next chief
It sounds like Steve MacNamara is telling folks around Senate President Mike Haridopolos' office that he will take the chief of staff job in Gov. Rick Scott's office. We reported earlier this month he was the leading contender for the job.
The long-time political player has his share of foes around Tallahassee, but he's also navigated the town's cut-throat politics like few others: He's chief of staff in Haridopolos' office, was chief of staff for former Speaker John Thrasher, he's been a lobbyist and he's a tenured communications professor at Florida State University.
The move has received more Buzz after a new assignment for Scott's original chief of staff, Mike Prendergast, and a resignation today from Mary Anne Carter, his top policy adviser.
Scott's office declined to comment. MacNamara did not return a phone call.
