Buzz's 5 Questions for NH Secretary of State Gardner

New Hampshire Secretary of State William Gardner was watching on the computer when the legislature's presidential primary met to set Florida's presidential primary date. Gardner zealously guards New Hampshire's nearly 100-year-old traidition as the first-in-the-nation presidential primary, and his jaw dropped when former state Sen. Al Lawson made a motion to set Florida primary for Jan. 3 - a move that surely would have pushed South Carolina, Iowa, and New Hampshire to set their dates before Christmas. Buzz caught up yesterday with Gardner, whose parents live near Fort Myers and acknowledged Florida has some historic claim to be an early primary state.
