Campaign Faux Pas
It was a serious moment. Jeb Bush was dissing Jim King’s opponent Randall Terry. And then a song rang out. It came from King’s pocket. As King fumbled for his cell phone, Bush grabbed it from him, making a sour, incredulous face, as the room broke into giggles. “Who is the campaign manager for this campaign?” Bush said sarcastically. He stopped the press conference. Left the podium. Walked the cell phone over to King’s campaign spokesman Sarah Bascom. “This is elections-101 man. Turn off the cell phones. How many times have you run for office?” King shrugged his shoulders. “How quickly I forget,” King muttered with a sheepish smile.
