Cannon and Haridopolos: Fla GOP doesn't need "media circus" from credit card release
Joint statement from Senate President-designate Mike Haridopolis and House Speaker-designate Dean Cannon:
As incoming presiding officers of our respective chambers, we have worked hard to lead in a responsible manner both in our roles as legislative leaders and with the Republican Party. One of the most difficult decisions we faced was our recent effort to bring about change in leadership of our party. We did so knowing that a fresh start was essential. We commend Chairman Thrasher for his swift action to initiate a full forensic audit of the RPOF’s finances. The results of this audit will give us a complete picture of any and all irregularities which may exist. While the media is now calling for the release of many of the Party’s internal financial records, it is our firm belief that the professional auditors should be allowed to do their job without the interference of a media circus surrounding the release of any records. We are confident that at the conclusion of the audit we will be in a position to take any corrective action necessary and continue the process of restoring the confidence of our donors, grassroots activists, and supporters.
