Carole Jean: Dems avoiding the truth

With some of the state and nation's top Democrats in Fort Lauderdale for the annual Jefferson-Jackson weekend, the GOP was eager to give its own take on the economic and global outlook. Surprise, it's far from the message circulating at the Broward Convenction Center.

"Partisan attacks won’t be able to cover up the fact that Jeb Bush’s tax cuts have worked for Florida, increasing revenue while bolstering the state’s economy, one of the strongest in the nation," party chairwoman Carole Jean Jordan said in a statement. "That economy has produced hundreds of thousands of new jobs for Floridians, while the increased revenues brought about by lower taxes have allowed record increases in education funding. The fact that Republican tax policy has been so successful here in Florida might be why Governor Richardson has attempted to imitate it in New Mexico, but I doubt he’ll be very forthcoming with praise for Florida’s leadership.

“Whether it is John Murtha’s Blame America and ‘cut and run’ message of a few weeks ago, or Richardson, Dodd and Clark, the national Democrats continue to attack the President’s strong, principled leadership in the Global War on Terror.  While this might play well with the liberal activists controlling the Florida Democrat Party, that’s not a message that resonates with Florida’s many veterans and servicemen and women, nor the electorate as a whole.”
