Castor, Nelson to lead rally for rail stimulus
U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor, Sen. Bill Nelson, Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio, Florida Chamber of Commerce president Mark Wilson and others will rally in Tampa tomorrow morning for Florida's high-speed rail application.
A separate rally will be held in Orlando featuring Mayor Buddy Dyer, organizers said. Florida is seeking $2.5 billion in federal stimulus money for a line connecting Orlando and Tampa. While the state's size, documented transportation woes and political import make it a strong contender, nothing is certain.
UPDATE Tuesday: The coalition has a TV ad.
