Century Village Politics
So
Buzz pulls into the first polling stop to meet Rod Smith at Century Village in Pembroke Pines, home to 14,000 residents. When we get out of the car, we're greeted by a little old man who hands us a pink paper palm card that reads "Adele Berger Recommends," and top of the list is Smith for guv. So we ask, who is this Adele? And he answers "She's our leader, I'll take you to her."
And so we follow him to Adele, a petite, red headed 76-year-old firecracker wearing sunglasses (despite that it's pouring rain outside), who says yes she is a leader. Of what, Buzz never quite figured out. "Everbody knows who I am. And nobody has more volunteers than I do. I have 35 people working for me, handing out palm cards."
In the meantime, the man is muttering loudly, "I brought them to you, I did it. . .I'm her assistant."
So why is Adele supporting Rod and not Jim?
