CFO Sink objects to big trust fund raids
Florida Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink wrote a letter to Senate President Jeff Atwater and House Speaker Ray Sansom warning them against all their raiding of certain trust funds, especially the Lawton Chiles fund and the Budget Stabilization Fund. She asks the Legislature to find "sensible" cuts.
"The penny-wise and pound-foolish idea would leave less than $270-million in a fund that totaled more than $2.1-billion seven short months ago," Sink said about raiding the Lawton Chiles fund
"Draining our citizens' savings accounts and jeopardizing the future funding of our children's health care are not in the best interest of Florida's taxpayers," Sink wrote in the letter.
