Chamber unveils scorecard to measure state's 'health'
The Florida Chamber Foundation just released the Florida Scorecard, billed as a "one-of-a-kind economic barometer," that assesses and tracks the state economy in "real time."
The scorecard uses dozens of metrics including graduation rates, venture capital investments, corporate income taxation levels, health care costs and state-to-state comparisons to assess the Sunshine State. Chamber folks say the data comes from sources like the Agency for Workforce Innovation, Bureau of Economic Advisors, U.S. Census Bureau, and the University of Florida Bureau of Economic and Demographic Research.
“With this dashboard, the Florida Chamber Foundation will be consistently updating the scorecard as new data becomes available, and providing an honest assessment of how Florida is doing and where this state is heading as we transition to a new economy,” said Tony Carvajal, Executive Director of the Florida Chamber Foundation.
