Charlie Crist swarmed in Hollywood

Charlie Crist was just swarmed at a quick stop on Hollywood Beach, a place where Republicans, or even former Republicans, wouldn’t typically find friends. Crist served drinks at Ocean Alley, and the scene was broadcast live on Fox News.

Susan and Bob Lieberman, two undecided Democrats, grabbed a corner table at the restaurant hoping the encounter with Crist would resolve in their minds who they would vote for – Crist or Democrat U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek.

“If I was voting with my heart, I’d vote for Charlie Crist,” Susan Liebrman said. “But my head is in helping Barack Obama, and I think maybe Kendrick Meek is the best guy to do that.”
The Liebermans, it’s worth noting, voted for Crist in his campaign for governor in 2006.
Later, a Hollywood police officer stopped the bus as it was departing for Ft. Myers to get a picture with Crist and .“He is the epitome of what we need in Washington,” said Joe Pendergast, 37. “He’s why I’m staying in Florida.”
