Climbing mount Clinton, Obama fans look ahead
Obama fundraiser and No. 1 Florida cheerleader Kirk Wagar sent this memo to supporters declaring victory in New Hampshire.
"We had a heck of a mountain to climb and we have achieved what we have always said we wanted. A one on one race between Senator Obama and Senator Clinton about who would be the best candidate for President, who would help Democrats up and down the ticket in November and, most importantly, who would bring the best fundamental change to this great country as President. We are at that point as the field is now effectively winnowed. It is perhaps a little sooner than any of us thought. ...
"It is without question that the media got ahead of itself to write Senator Clinton off. This is an election not a coronation and Hilary Clinton is still the quasi incumbent in this race. Against this inevitable candidate, Barack Obama has managed at least a nine point win in Iowa and a razor thin 2 point loss in the state she considered her fire wall. If you had asked me 2 weeks ago iof I would have given a kidney for this result, I think you all
know the answer."
