Connie Mack announces (again) he's running for Senate
Demonstrating a knack for dragging out a candidate announcement for all it's worth, U.S. Rep. Connie Mack IV appeared on the Sean Hannity show tonight to announce what his campaign operatives announced a month ago: He's running for U.S. Senate.
"I am going to run for the United States Senate because frannkly the people of Floridahave had enough,'' Mack said, noting that Nelson was "right by Obama's side" on strimulus and health care reform.
Neither Hannity nor Mack mentioned that he has four major GOP primary opponents in the race to get past first, though recent polls show Mack overwhelmingly in the lead.
Hannity appears to be a fan Mack, which should be considerable help to the Fort Myers Republican whose father served in the Senate from 1989 to 2001. Then again, Hannity was a big fan of Katherine Harris for awhile too, and that didn't work out so well for her.
