Connie Mack will endorse Romney
Mitt Romney will pick up the backing of U.S. Rep. Connie Mack, the first endorsement as he turns his attention to Florida. Romney is also expected to be in the state tomorrow, details to be announced. Mack was a co-chair of his 2008 campaign. "We need true leadership in the White House with someone who is uniquely qualified to grow the economy and create the quality jobs that Americans deserve and need," said Mack, R-Fort Myers. Florida will be key to any presidential hopeful, and Romney's camp feels bullish in the early going. Romney invested a lot of Sunshine State time in the 2010 cycle, showing up at events for Marco Rubio and other candidates. He's also used his PAC to spread money to various Congressional candidates. Earlier this week, a Mason-Dixon survey showed Romney leading President Obama 48-43.
