CPAC FL adds U.S. Senate straw poll
CPAC FL, which has snagged nearly every major Republican presidential candidate, is adding a U.S. Senate GOP primary straw poll.
The straw poll will be conducted by Fabrizio, McLaughlin & Associates, and is open to all registered CPAC attendees. The American Conservative Union will set the official straw poll ballot and release official rules and additional details in the coming weeks. Individuals included on the ballot will be invited to provide brief remarks from CPAC FL’s main stage. Invited participants include Adam Hasner, George LeMieux, Mike McCalister and Craig Miller.
“Using the same forum that introduced Marco Rubio to the national scene, we hope to highlight conservative Florida leaders, who are standing strongly in opposition to the shared liberal agenda of President Barack Obama and Senator Bill Nelson, to a crowd of grassroots activists from across the Sunshine State," said ACU chairman Al Cardenas.
The daylong conference will be held in Orlando on Sept. 23, a day after the Republican Party of Florida's Presidency 5 event, which will feature a presidential straw poll.
CPAC FL’s confirmed line-up includes Congresswoman Michele Bachmann; Herman Cain; Newt Gingrich, Jon Huntsman; Gary Johnson; Thaddeus McCotter; Grover Norquist; Tim Pawlenty; Rick Santorum; Mitt Romney; Marco Rubio; Jim Talent; Ann Coulter; Bill Kristol; Ralph Reed.
